Inspired by my Original Trail Buddy
Who We Are
Hi, I’m Josh—founder, lifelong dog lover, and trail enthusiast.
I grew up just outside Philadelphia in Lower Merion Township, but made the move to the Bay Area in 2015 when I was 23. My first stop was Corte Madera, where I spent three unforgettable years before settling in San Rafael’s Terra Linda neighborhood for another five. These days, you’ll find me living in Santa Rosa, still exploring new trails every chance I get.
On my very first morning in California, I woke up early, laced up my shoes, and hit the Ring Mountain trail. That single hike changed everything. The landscape, the light, the open air—I knew instantly I’d found where I belonged.
From that day forward, my Siberian Husky, Ace, and I spent countless hours hiking through Marin County. Terra Linda quickly became our favorite playground—miles of open space, golden hills, and scenery that never gets old. The East Coast will always have a piece of my heart, but nothing quite compares to the sheer feeling of freedom out here.
Watching Ace come alive on those trails was pure magic. His tail wagged nonstop, nose to the ground, eyes bright—it was like seeing his inner wolf awaken. Dogs like Ace don't just want a loop around the block; they thrive when they get to explore, smell, climb, and run. They need that deep connection with the natural world.
Ace got to enjoy a beautiful, long life and a happy retirement from those big treks before he passed. Today, his spirit inspires everything I do. My goal is to bring that exact same spark to your dog—helping them tap into their wild side, soak up the sunshine, and embrace the thrill of the great outdoors.
Ace — the Heartbeat Behind It All
Meet Ace—the inspiration, the explorer, and the heartbeat behind everything we do.
Ace was a Siberian Husky with the kind of boundless energy and curiosity that could light up an entire trail. From the moment he came into my life, it was clear he was built for adventure—part athlete, part explorer, all heart. He lived for every new scent, every rustling leaf, and every patch of earth under his paws.
But it wasn’t until we hit the rugged trails of Marin County that I saw him truly come alive. Watching Ace conquer hills, pause to catch the wind, and sprint ahead with pure, unbridled joy was magic. It was his wild instincts waking up; it was freedom. Those hikes became our ritual, our shared language, and the foundation of my life's work.
Ace taught me that dogs need more than just a walk around the block—they need discovery, mental stimulation, and a real connection to the natural world. He recently crossed the rainbow bridge, but his spirit is the driving force behind Bay Area K9 Adventures.
I created this service to honor his memory by giving other dogs the exact same gift Ace gave to me: the chance to live fully, explore deeply, and experience the world precisely the way they were built to.
